Plot
Anita Panchouri, the daughter of an indebted Indian businessman, is about to marry a wealthy man when she meets Lee de Leon, a romantic rasta singer who performs at her engagement party. Anita is torn between duty and desire, and eventually leaves her fiancé for Lee. However, Anita's younger brother-in-law, Nikhil, sets out to destroy Anita and her father.

The film is set in Trinidad and Tobago and combines Bollywood melodrama, Calypso-infused Soca music, and American sitcom humor.
